reFLEXessies
The reFLEXessies are informal project salons within the course Projectatelier. organized in collaboration with several other studios. The goal is to bring together students from different elective studios. Since many students work in very diverse studios, they often see little or none of each other’s processes and results. That’s unfortunate, because the lessons are meant to inspire, amaze, and motivate one another.
Purpose and content
During each session, three students have the opportunity to share their ideas. experiments, sources of inspiration, and work processes in a spontaneous and informal way. This may include:
- a trip, text, or exhibition that inspired them
- a concert or artist that made an impression
- developing a performance
- new artistic research or recent results
In short: the student is given full artistic freedom - carte blanche. The most important aspect is that the sessions offer plenty of space for exchange, dialogue, and reflection. For some students, these salons also serve as valuable preparation for an upcoming jury.
Practical setup
- A total of about six sessions are planned, running until the end of May.
- Each session consists of three presentation sets.
- A set lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, with short breaks in between.
- During the presentations, there is time for feedback, Q&A, dialogue, and reflection.
- One hour is scheduled before each session for preparation and setup.
- Students bring their own hanging systems for their work.
- The sessions take place in the Projectatelier, where students can use mobile walls and tables.
- Everything happens in an informal atmosphere: participants bring a snack and/or drink.
